and COSMETICS
Trib-Blade face shaper - a multipurpose applicator and massage tool
This tool is used to exercises and condition the soft tissues of the face to improve face shape while applying skin care lotions. It was originally conceived for industrial uses and has evolved into a hand-held cosmetic applicator that resembles and is used like a blade. It restores features lost to ageing. A rigorous 2 minute daily exercise routine can take up to 5 years off a 40+ face and neck. Patents are granted in UK and pending internationally on tools and procedures. We welcome license enquiries. The Technology The shape of the face is the summation of the contours of the underlying bone structure and the overlying soft tissue. The overlying soft tissues are in two separate strata, (i) The deep soft tissues fixed to the bone, i.e. pre-periosteal fat and jaw (masiticatory) muscles. (ii) The superficial facia related soft tissues i.e. the layered matrix of facial expressive muscles that control facial expression. Facial soft tissues shrink and sag with age. Regular exercise will delay this process and restore some lost features, making the face look younger. This tool provides a large planar frictional rubbing area, larger and more uniform than can be achieved with fingers. It’s rubbing face is flexible and has frictional characteristics that during rubbing (sliding), enables it to evenly grip and displace relatively large areas of facial cutaneous soft tissues (skin) over its associated subcutaneous soft tissue (mainly muscle) and thereby stresses and exercises the underlying muscles because the facial expressive muscles are coupled to the skin. For maximum benefit groups of tensed muscles in the face and neck are repeatedly stretched as in resistance training. Relatively high levels of stretch can be safely applied providing the stress is alternated (immediately reversed) to avoid permanent extension of visco elastic tissues. The exercise trains the fibres in the facial tissues to extend and contract more readily in preferred directions. The affect is similar to exercising motor muscles in the arms and legs by resistance training; they firm and strengthen done in the short time it takes to apply routine skin care lotions. The result is the face looks younger because muscle wasting is slowed and in some cases reversed which offsets ageing effects; this is most noticeable on more mature faces by slightly lifting the cheeks, improving the jaw line and reducing jowls and neck flab. Optimising the facial muscles tends to reduce wrinkling especially when smiling while making the smile broader and more expressive. How to use it
Referring to the above figure, grip the blade between fingers and thumb towards the thick end of the central upstanding spine, with the fore finger pointing in the direction of the tool tip. The actual finger arrangement adopted is a matter of personal choice. The blade is shaped with a soft pointed end for reaching around the eyes and into the nose folds. The blade has soft edges to prevent damage to the eyes and skin. Dip the tip into a pot or dispense a small amount of skin care lotion onto the tool face near its tip and spot it around then spread it out. Start the massage by pressing the blade against a wetted area maintaining the largest contact area possible as shown in cross section below.
This diagram shows how the stress field of the tool penetrates more effectively than a single finger contact. Repeatedly slide the tool forwards and backwards over a distance equivalent to approximately half the length of the tool and generally in the direction of the primary facial motions, which coincide with the axis of the groups of facial muscle as shown below.
As rubbing continues friction rises due to the lotion absorbing or drying or the emulsion breaking down. Continue rubbing until the contact temperature starts to rise. Gradually transpose the tool over the entire face. User benefits Daily exercise improve face shape by firming soft tissue Daily massage stimulates vascular function Daily massage deep-cleans the pores of the skin Daily massage improves skin absorption of lotion actives Daily massage is integrated into the daily cosmetic routine taking about 2 minutes only Keeps users’ hands off the skin and out of tub, protects nails, reduces infection risk.
