| SKIN-CARE (MEDICAL) Skin trauma treatment aids Trib-Tools in the form of soft thermoformed pads or sheets are potentially useful for treating skin injuries or ailments, for example as first-aid devices for use on or off the sports field to treat minor injuries like knocks and grazes. They are also potentially useful for applying clinical treatments for dermatitis. Trib-Tools are gentle and effective massaging and cleaning tools that simultaneously dispense fluids or lotions as they gently scrape the skin, while keeping hands isolated from skin. Pad and sheet Trib-Tools dispense and massage lotions onto/into the skin in small amounts as they clean by gentle scraping with soft pliable edges, removing and storing dirt and debris in a sub-surface labyrinth away from the treated surface. When made with soft sterile materials they are suitable for cleaning open wounds, for example extracting ingrained dirt from grazed skin while releasing antiseptic or analgesic substances. Being a sheet material they provide isolation from operatives hands and there is no risk of filaments of lint being shed in the wound and less risk of other introduced infection. Trib-Tools are also suited to applying treatments to disorders that benefit from vigorous physical agitation, for example cellulite and acne treatments. Stick Trib-Tools can be made mildly abrasive which is useful for exfoliation. Trib-Tools in the form of both sticks and sheets (pads) have the potential for applying doses of low molecular weight trans-dermal medications, and spreading these over larger areas than trans-dermal patches, thereby speeding up absorption rates by gently abrading (excoriating). The rubbing action provides massage that stimulates dermal blood flow as the dispensing tool is rubbed repeatedly over the skin. The action of rubbing 'grippy' rubber like pads against skin sequentially stretches and compresses the epidermis, opening and closing pores, thus improving absorption into the dermis via pores and gently scraping off ejected matter from the pores.
